For Heidi Caillier,
Perfection Is Not the Point
Heidi Caillier has lived many lives.
Before pursuing interior design, Heidi spent time a scuba instructor in Australia, studied yoga in India, and went to school for acupuncture and nursing. Her design ethos followed suit, capturing a fearless, no-rules spirit: at once eclectic, collected, and intentional.
The ideal space for Heidi is one that feels, and is meant to be, lived in. Layered and varied, with signs of life everywhere you look. Never perfect, never meant to be perfect.
“Everything changed when I started trusting my own eye. I think good interior design has tension. It’s unexpected, a little unpredictable…it should feel like it took a long time, even if it didn’t.”
A Striking Balance
Heidi’s signature style is immediately recognizable, yet each one of her spaces is singular. Like a composer bringing notes into harmony, Heidi deftly pulls in an array of unique elements—in the form of rich patterns, texture, and color—finding a striking balance among distinctive patterns.
“These pieces lend themselves to feeling like a little bit worn in. They don't feel brand new, they're not perfect. And that's kind of the point.”
The designs in this latest collection get at the heart of Heidi’s ethos, evoking a rooted, layered feel.
You’ll find ditsy florals, earthy textures, and simplified geometric elements, often paired up in a way that feels organic and unstructured. It’s highly considered yet laid back, intentional yet effortless. The type of design that feels like it’s always belonged, like it’s been a part of your home for years—made to be loved and lived in for yet more to come.
“A rug should do something in a room. It should anchor it and maybe complicate it a little. The color and pattern need to hold up against everything else you’ve put in the space, not just sit there.”
